Why Your Plant Needs a Servo Voltage Stabilizer

Unstable supply voltage is one of the leading causes of unplanned machine downtime and equipment failure in India, Africa, and the Middle East. Installing a servo stabilizer is the most cost-effective way to eliminate this risk.

Voltage Fluctuations Are Unavoidable

Power transmission systems stepping down from 11kV/33kV to 415V AC are affected by load variations, causing unstable LT voltage at the consumer end – even in commercial areas.

Machines Fail at Over/Under Voltage

CNC machines, injection moulding equipment, packaging machines, and medical devices are all designed for ±5% of their rated voltage. Beyond this, failures and permanent damage occur.

Downtime Costs More Than Prevention

A single unplanned shutdown in a manufacturing plant can cost lakhs. A servo stabilizer from Purevolt typically pays for itself within the first 6-12 months through reduced maintenance costs alone.

One Solution for the Entire Plant

A centralized servo voltage stabilizer from Purevolt protects your entire factory load – not just individual machines – reducing complexity and providing a single-point power protection solution.

How a Servo Voltage Stabilizer Works

Purevolt servo stabilizers use a solid-state electronic control circuit and an AC synchronous servo motor to continuously monitor and correct output voltage in real time.

Sense Input Voltage

The PCB control card continuously monitors the incoming supply voltage and compares it with a preset reference value.

Generate Error Signal

Any deviation from the reference voltage generates an error signal, which is amplified and sent to drive the servo motor.

Servo Motor Correction

The AC synchronous servo motor rotates the arm of a dimmerstat (variable auto transformer) in the appropriate direction to correct the voltage.

Buck-Boost Output

The corrected voltage is fed through a series buck-boost transformer to deliver a stable ±1% regulated output to your equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a servo voltage stabilizer and how does it differ from a relay-type stabilizer?
A servo voltage stabilizer uses an AC synchronous servo motor and a dimmerstat to continuously and smoothly regulate output voltage. Unlike relay-type stabilizers that switch in discrete steps (±10V jumps), servo stabilizers provide stepless, proportional correction – maintaining output within ±1% regardless of input fluctuations. This makes them far more suitable for sensitive industrial equipment like CNC machines, medical devices, and precision manufacturing.
What KVA rating do I need for my factory or plant?
KVA rating is determined by your total connected load. As a general rule: add up the wattage of all equipment you want to protect, add 20-25% safety margin, and that gives you your required KVA. For example, a factory with 80KW of machinery would need a 100 KVA stabilizer. Contact our engineers with your load details – we’ll do the sizing calculation at no charge.
Which is better – air cooled or oil cooled servo stabilizer?
Air cooled is suitable for capacities up to 200 KVA in moderate indoor environments (ambient temperature below 45°C). Oil cooled is recommended for capacities above 200 KVA, outdoor installations, and hot climates (Africa, Middle East, industrial areas). Oil cooled units have a longer service life in harsh conditions. For most export orders to Africa, we supply oil cooled models.
What certifications do Purevolt servo stabilizers carry?
Purevolt is ISO 9001:2008 certified with NABL accreditation. For export, our products carry SONCAP certification (required for Nigeria and other West African countries), tested and certified by Bureau Veritas, SGS, and Intertek. We are also MSME, NSIC, D&B, and SSI registered. All certificates can be provided with the shipment.
Do you offer customized servo stabilizers for specific input/output voltages?
Yes. All Purevolt servo stabilizers are manufactured to order. We can customize input voltage range, output voltage, KVA capacity, phase configuration (single or three phase), enclosure type, and cooling method. This is especially common for export orders where local grid voltages differ (e.g., 380V/60Hz markets).
What is the delivery time and do you offer installation support?
Standard models (10-100 KVA) are typically dispatched within 7-14 working days. Large custom orders (500 KVA and above) may take 3-5 weeks depending on specifications. For domestic (India) customers, our team provides on-site installation guidance. For export orders, we provide detailed installation manuals and remote technical support.
What is the price of a servo voltage stabilizer?
Prices vary by KVA rating, phase type, and cooling method. As a reference: a 10 KVA single-phase air cooled servo stabilizer starts from Rs. 24,150, and a 10 KVA three-phase model starts from Rs. 40,635. Larger capacities (100 KVA and above) are quoted based on exact specifications. Request a quote above or call us for the latest price list.
