Isolation Transformers for Online UPS & Sine Wave UPS

We manufacture and export various types of Isolation Transformers designed for use with Online UPS and Sine Wave UPS systems. These isolation transformers significantly reduce power line disturbances such as noise, spikes, surges, transients, and neutral disturbances, ensuring clean and stable power supply.

In most applications, isolation transformers are installed at the output of Online UPS systems. In certain cases, customers also install these transformers on the input side of Sine Wave Online UPS systems, depending on site requirements.

Working Principle of Isolation Transformers

An isolation transformer consists of two separate windings — primary and secondary — wound on a common iron core but electrically isolated from each other. The output is taken from the secondary winding, which is completely isolated from the input.

The input and output are electrically independent, with energy transferred only through magnetic coupling. This design ensures enhanced safety, noise isolation, and protection for sensitive equipment.

We manufacture and export isolation transformers for use with Emerson, APC, and other branded Online UPS systems. These transformers can be configured as step-up or step-down transformers to achieve the desired output voltage from the UPS.

Protection Against Power Line Disturbances

Modern electrical systems include inductive loads, capacitive loads, SMPS, electronic ballasts, and PWM switching systems. These loads introduce harmful spikes, surges, transients, sags, RFI noise, and harmonics into AC power lines.

Due to these disturbances, the failure rate of electronic equipment is increasing rapidly. Without proper power isolation and conditioning, sensitive equipment remains at high risk.

Long-Term Equipment Protection

In many cases, damage is not immediate. Repeated exposure to electrical transients gradually weakens electronic components, significantly reducing their lifespan. Line noise causes excessive stress on semiconductor devices, leading to:

  • Software and program failures

  • PLC and control system damage

  • Storage media corruption

  • Production downtime

  • Loss of data and man-hours
