Purevolt’s Constant Voltage Transformer (CVT) is designed to provide complete protection against power-related problems. It effectively regulates voltage variations, suppresses transients through isolation, and bridges short power interruptions or voltage dips. Input Voltage Specifications
The standard input voltage range is 180 V to 260 V at rated load. At lower load conditions, the low-voltage operating limit increases automatically. Short-term high input voltages do not affect the connected load.
Purevolt CVTs can safely withstand input voltages of up to 300 V for up to 10 minutes while still delivering the rated output voltage. An MCB or fuse is provided on the input side of the CVT to protect it against persistent high current conditions, which are typically caused by high voltage due to a weak neutral.
The Constant Voltage Transformer ensures that even if the input voltage exceeds specified limits, the connected equipment is never exposed to damaging high voltage.
Output Voltage
220 V to 230 V from no load to full load, even with a line voltage variation from 180 V to 260 V.
Line Frequency
50 Hz ± 1%. All specifications are based on a 50 Hz supply. For every 1% change in line frequency, the output voltage changes by approximately 1.6%.
A special feature of the Purevolt CVT is its wide tolerance for load power factor variations, provided the line frequency remains within the specified limits.
Output Waveform
The output waveform of the Purevolt CVT is sinusoidal, with total harmonic distortion limited to 5% at full load under typical input conditions.
Voltage Correction Speed
Supply voltage variations are normally corrected within half a cycle, i.e., within 10 ms.

Isolation
Since the input and output voltages are separated not only electrically but also physically by a magnetic shunt, Purevolt’s Constant Voltage Transformer (CVT) provides a much stronger isolation effect than a conventional transformer.
This isolation effectively eliminates high-frequency components of normal-mode noise, while neutral-to-ground bonding creates a short-circuit path for common-mode noise, ensuring superior power conditioning and protection for sensitive equipment.
