All CVTs are load-tested at 0.8 power factor or unity power factor, as per customer requirements, for all standard ratings. Purevolt manufactures CVTs (Constant Voltage Transformers) that operate using a tank circuit, consisting of a high-voltage resonant winding and a capacitor. This design enables the transformer to deliver a nearly constant output voltage even when the input voltage varies. The ferroresonant transformer principle is especially advantageous because it contains no active electronic components. Instead, it relies on the square-loop saturation characteristics of the tank circuit to absorb input voltage fluctuations and maintain stable output.
